Of course Halloween tends to be all about getting spooked, but what about the treats? Not all Halloween movies are meant to be scary – there are movies like It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; The Adam’s Family; Practical Magic; Casper and much more that can get you in the holiday spirit without giving you nightmares.
To celebrate this spooktacular holiday, we wanted to share some of our favorite halloween movies:
1. The Blair Witch Project – Jason
Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.
2. The Touch of Satan – Robert
An overly obvious ’70s wanderer hits on a witch while a babysitter watches over Castle Forrester.
3. Night of the Living Dead – Matt
A group of people hide from bloodthirsty zombies in a farmhouse.
4. Hocus Pocus – Melissa
After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teen-agers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches’ reign of terror once and for all.
5. Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens”- Jared
Vampire Count Orlok expresses interest in a new residence and real estate agent Hutter’s wife. Silent classic based on the story “Dracula.”
6. Ghostbusters – Sammi
Three unemployed parapsychology professors set up shop as a unique ghost removal service.
7. Evil Dead Trilogy – Michael
Five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. The evil presence possesses them until only one is left to fight for survival.
8. Zombieland – Paul
A shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the last Twinkie, and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park join forces to travel across a zombie-filled America.
